Fidchell with Wood Box

In the old Irish tales, kings and heroes sat down to fidchell, “wood wisdom,” to test their wits. The Welsh knew it as gwyddbwyll. The original rules were lost to time, but the game survived in the stories, and this set brings it back to the table.

Players race to build an unbroken line of pieces from the king at the center to the outer ring, while capturing their opponents’ pieces along the way. It’s quick to learn, deeply strategic, and works with two or three players.
